Greater Richmond Technology Council’s
TechLinks Golf Tournament

 The Greater Richmond Technology Council’s annual golf tournament – a popular sellout year after year – featured a real-time scoring system developed by IndigeTech, the Richmond-based performance dashboard innovator.  GRTC Techlinks 2006 teed off on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 on two courses east of Richmond, Royal New Kent and Stonehouse.

IndigeTech’s Tournament Scorecard allowed the collection of scores from various points on the courses, which were then sent in via a cellular phone application (provided by Sprint Nextel ) and displayed on a leaderboard (provided by BVC Communications  - their Mobile Outdoor Display) at the tournament headquarters at Royal New Kent.  The leaderboard was also available on the cell phones used by the scorers, so foursomes were able to get real-time information on the course – which drove even fiercer competition among the players, representing technology companies from throughout central Virginia.   See what it looked like here.  Make sure you drill down into the program and see how cool this really is.

 Sponsorship of GRTC Techlinks 2006 reflected the breadth and depth of the technology sector in central Virginia.  Phillip Morris USA teed up as Master Sponsor; Bell Industries and BranCore Technologies made the 19^th hole refreshing as Reception Sponsors; Closest to the Pin Sponsors reading the greens were Core Consulting, Genworth Financial, Networking Technologies & Support, Inc.
