TechSummit 2007
Tech Innovations in Healthcare

Few industries in the United States have as large an impact on our citizens and businesses as Healthcare. Increasing demand from consumers, providers, and government to maximize efficiency and minimize cost push the industry to constantly search for innovation and technology that ensures effective care and competitive delivery. Therefore, this is an industry with great challenges, a big need for innovation, and interesting opportunities.

The first of our 2007 TechSummit programs will focus on “Tech Innovations in Healthcare”. The program is not about healthcare as much as it is about the creative use of existing technology and the development of new technologies that enable the industry to meet demand and deliver the best health care services in the world. It is that “innovation” that we want to spotlight in the three sessions of our program.

The TechSummit will include speakers that are responsible for developing innovation strategies and implementing solutions at regional healthcare benefits organizations and at healthcare providers. The program will also feature some of the creative people and businesses that are developing the technology that is helping the industry to respond to this challenge.

Stay tuned for more information in the very near future…

Can a Telework program help you?

Could your business use up to $35,000 to pay for office space or equipment? Are you interested in finding out how to attract and retain good employees.  If you answered "yes" to these questions, a telework program might be exactly what your company needs.

Telework allows employees to perform their usual job duties away from their central workplace, in accordance with their same performance expectations set by the employer.

Implementing a telework program can help your organization:
• attract and retain talented employees
• reduces absenteeism
• lowers operation expenses
• increase business continuity
• eliminate the commute time into the office
• helps to improve regional air quality by reducing the amount of vehicles on the road.

Right now, TeleWork!VA is offering employers up to $35,000 to start or expand a formal telework program through the reimbursement of equipment/software lease costs and consultant/technical assistance expenses.  We are partnering with the Department of Rail and Public Transportation to administer and promote TeleWork!VA

RideFinders serves as a regional telework resource by providing access to technical assistance through approved consultants, and guide your business in all facets of establishing and managing successful telework programs.  Best of all, our assistance is free.

RideFinders can assist your organization in making your telework program a measurable success.  For more details, please feel free to contact Shanika McClelland, Outreach Specialist at 804-643-RIDE or 804.643.7433 or visit www.teleworkva.org for more information.
