| Everything You Wanted To Know About Business Wire, But Were Afraid To Ask | |||

Joining the Greater Richmond Technology Council brings you a host of benefits – events where you can network with people from a variety of business sectors, access to information on the ever-changing intersection of business and technology, the ear of state government, media exposure. When I said that last phrase, did you think, “Business Wire”? If not, you should have. Business Wire is the global leader in commercial news distribution. Your membership in GRTC gives you and your company the ability to put your company’s news on the desktops and in the newspapers of your customers and potential customers. Here’s how it works: if your company has news, such as a new product or service, or a notable addition to your management team, you prepare your press release. If you need help there, contact me: casey@mightycasey.com. You then contact Scott Young at Business Wire (scott.young@businesswire.com or 800-548-6463 ext. 207) – let him know you’re a member of GRTC, and ask him for a Business Wire membership application. Again, if you need help, I’m here to give it. Fill out the application and send it in to the Charlotte bureau at the fax number listed on the application form. When Business Wire receives your application, you’ll get a confirmation from them and you can submit your press release. Your first submission will require a credit card for payment (state-wide wire service circuits start at $120.00), with subsequent releases being billed to your company. In addition to the wire-service distribution of your company’s press releases outlined above, here is a comprehensive list of the services Business Wire offers GRTC member companies:
The value of all these services, available gratis for the first year of Business Wire membership, is $3,190.00 – another powerful business tool you gain from membership in the Greater Richmond Technology Council. If you have any questions about Business Wire, and how to use your membership in GRTC to leverage this powerful media tool, please contact me. I’d be happy to help you publicize your business’ news! |
