Dan
R. Mills has spent the last 20 years with Virginia's Center for
Innovative Technology (CIT) and is currently serving as Vice President,
Regional Operations. During this time he has worked with hundreds of
technology firms to promote their competitive ability and/growth. He
currently has responsibility for overseeing the statewide regional
operations for the Center.
Prior to joining CIT, Mr.
Mills had over 15 years of process-engineering and manufacturing
experience including: seven years as a Group Manufacturing Manager with
a multi-plant responsibility for a major refractory producer with
annual sales of $25-43 million; five years as a Plant Manager for a
refractory plant with annual sales of $15 million; and four years as a
Process Engineer in refractory and advanced manufacturing plants.
Mr. Mills offers a wealth
of industry experience, along with a business education. He earned a
bachelor's of science in Ceramic Engineering from Virginia Tech and an
master's of business administration from The College of William & Mary.
He also has taken numerous courses throughout his career on topics such
as: technology transfer processes, statistical process control,
marketing management, executive effectiveness, kiln burning, total
quality management, problem/decision analysis, finance and accounting.
