Executive Director

The following profile, responsibilities and experience were developed to be consistent with the mission of the council: To promote the success of technology companies and the growth of the technology sector in the Central Virginia economy.

     Job Profile or Job Summary:

  • Passion for technology and its critical role in business

  • Promote council value throughout central Virginia region

  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate and energize membership involvement in all council activities

  • Ability to prioritize, respond and adjust in to strategic and tactical responsibilities

  • Approach a dynamic environment with an entrepreneurial attitude

  • Possess strong communications skills

  • Strong organizational and management skills

  • Broad understanding of needs and challenges of regional technology sector including technology centric industries
     
    Duties and Responsibilities:
     

  • Facilitate the development of a strategic plan

  • Sustain existing members and recruit new members

  • Develop and implement programs consistent with the strategic plan

  • Day to day financial and administrative management of the council

  • Initiating and sustaining fundraising activities

  • Represent council and its membership in appropriate venues and forums throughout the region

  • Updates and reports on Executive Director activities
     
    Required Experience or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
     

  • Knowledge of technology industry (not necessarily a technologist)

  • Leading and delegating

  • Managing multiple initiatives in a changing environment

  • Marketing,  fundraising, and budget management

  • Public Speaking Experience
     
    Not required but a plus:
     

  • Previous association experience

  • Regional contacts; existing network in business and government
